WORKSHOP 1: Women and the Film Narrative

2pm-3.30pm:

ABOUT: Contemporary storytelling in film can have a tendency to undervalue or completely overlook, deep and meaningful roles for women or themes involving the lives of women. It's not only Issue based films and documentaries that should be given license to discuss the sensitive subject matter of women's health and wellbeing. The growing number of contemporary women directors are addressing this gap in the market to produce strong, dynamic narratives that have women at their core. This workshop will review the short poem film works of Adele Myers, as she shows the rationale behind each film and the creative processes to realize them.
